As Chief of Staff, Barb is a partner to Luminate’s CEO and Leadership Team and serves as a liaison to the Board. She leads internal communications and is focused on organisational alignment and operational effectiveness. 

Before this, Barb was Director of Internal Communications at Luminate. Prior to that, she managed the organisation’s website, social media channels, and brand, and she supported a variety of external communications activities. 

Barb previously worked for Omidyar Network where she managed marketing & communications projects for the philanthropic investment firm. At the Smithsonian Institution, she served as Assistant to the Secretary, managing the Secretary’s schedule, and as an Advancement Associate, partnering with special events and advancement staff to plan Smithsonian National Board meetings and donor visits for high-net-worth individuals. 

Barb began her career at Orr Associates, Inc. (now Orr Group), a consulting firm for non-profit organisations, where she advised clients in event marketing & management, volunteer & board management, financial management, and fundraising.
